I've made a fan film, and want to you list it.
What do I need to do?
Fill in the submission form, linked on the side there. it's basically
just a standard email, so we can get in touch. What we will need from
you is a couple of images:
- a screengrab or film title card, sized to 320x240
pixels
- a Production Company image, 230x180 pixels
We'll also need a synopsis of your story and two weblinks. One to the
film itself and the second one to your website, if you have one.
Once we've got in touch by email, we'll sort out the extra details,
such as film format.
If I'm hosting the film, why can't I choose the film format?
You can, it's just we're trying to standardise as much as possible so
that film fans don't have to spend 30 minutes downloading your film
and then another 30 minutes downloading the particular player software,
just to watch one movie. Also some formats are better than others.
We're now testing Google Video format, so basically,
you can now either send the videos to us to upload to Google, or alternatively
upload them yourself and send us the link.
I can't encode my video, all this stuff is way over
my head
Don't worry, send us a copy and we'll encode it for you and send it back.
Hey, you haven't put up my review! Screw this, you're
a bunch of Nazis!
The
review submissions aren't automatic. They are email-based, as there is
too much room for abuse with an automatic system. So that means we read
every one. If you review hasn't been posted, then by all means get in
touch to find out why. There will be three possibilities:
- We pretend to have lives and as such, haven't got round to adding
the review yet. Sorry.
- It's got lost, deleted, sucked into a parallel universe. If this
is the case, sorry, please resend.
or
-
It's too abusive or unfairly critical. Until
Steven Spieilberg and ILM step up to the plate and make a Doctor
Who fan film, all
productions here are amateur. Please remember that. If the sound,
FX or acting isn't very good*, it doesn't mean the entire film is
unworthy and those who created it have a special circle of Hell
reserved for them. If you don't agree with the way the film uses
the Doctor Who universe, then say so, don't just say "This film
is total shit".
*We do allow comments on issues such as sound, acting, FX, but these
films are not Media Course projects, they are acts of fun.
Do you accept Star Wars, Star Trek films too?
No, unless they are crossovers. The Force.net
covers Star Wars fan films exceptionally well and until we're more
established we are only going to list fims based in the Doctor Who
universe.
I've done a UNIT film, will you list it?
Absolutely, just because it doesn't have the Doctor, doesn't mean it isn't
a Doctor Who fan film.
Hey, you don't have the classic
fan serial from 1991
That's because we haven't been able to find a copy. Do you have details
of who made it? Can they send us a copy?
